New ICPR report on the development of the discharge of the Rhine under the influence of climate change
Climate change is one of the biggest challenges of our time, including for water management. Droughts, floods and high water temperatures may have a negative impact on the ecosystem of the Rhine and its tributaries as well as on water usage.
Workshop on Sediment Management
On their way from the source to the mouth, rivers transport sediments of different grain sizes. Yet, the sediment balance is strongly influenced by human intervention on many river sections. As part of the programme "Rhine 2040", the states in the Rhine river basin have agreed on the goal of improving the sediment balance in the river basin. The ICPR has, therefore, organised a workshop on sediment management in the premises of the CCNR in Strasbourg on 24 June 2024.
Historical ICPR files now publicly available
In 2023, the ICPR handed over old files to the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU) in Florence in order to have them professionally archived and made accessible to the public.
