International workshops on sediment management and plastics

In the programme "Rhine 2040", the states in the Rhine river basin have among others agreed on the goal of improving the sediment balance in the Rhine and reducing the discharge of plastic waste. The ICPR is therefore organising a workshop on sediment management on 24 June 2024 in Strasbourg and a workshop on plastic waste on 12 December 2024 in Bonn.

International workshops on flash floods and non-target screening

After a long, pandemic-related dry spell, two international workshops took place in presence at the ICPR in autumn 2023. On 18 September, experts for non-target screening met at the ICPR secretariat. On 4 October, a workshop on heavy rain and flash floods was held at the BMUV in Bonn.

Rhine Cleanup in Koblenz on 09 September 2023

The Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Rhine (ICPR) have participated for the second year in a row in the RhineCleanUp on 9 September 2023. Many committed helpers have worked together to clear the banks of the Rhine in Koblenz of rubbish. We thank them for their support and look forward to RhineCleanUp 2024!
